THE FOURTH SORROWFUL MYSTERY

JESUS CARRIES THE CROSS
LORD, GRANT ME THE GRACE OF PATIENCE IN TIMES OF TRIBULATION
Our Father...

And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the cloak,
dressed him in his own clothes, and led him off to crucify him.
(Matthew 27:31)
Hail Mary...

As they were going out, they met a Cyrenian named Simon; this
man they pressed into service to carry his cross.  (Matthew 27:32)
Hail Mary...

A large crowd of people followed Jesus, including many women who
mourned and lamented him.  (Luke 23:27)
Hail Mary...

Jesus turned to them and said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not
weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children, for
indeed, the days are coming when people will say, 'Blessed are the
barren, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never
nursed.'  (Luke 23:28,29)
Hail Mary...

At that time people will say to the mountains, 'Fall upon us!' and to
the hills, 'Cover us!' for if these things are done when the wood is
green what will happen when it is dry?"  (Luke 23:30,31)
Hail Mary...

They brought him to the place of Golgotha (which is translated Place
of the Skull).  (Mark 15:22)
Hail Mary...

Now two others, both criminals, were led away with him to be
executed.  When they came to the place called the Skull, they
crucified him and the criminals there, one on his right, the other on
his left.  (Luke
23:32,33)  Hail Mary...

They gave him wine drugged with myrrh, but he did not take it.
(Mark 15:23)
Hail Mary...

Then they crucified him and divided his garments by casting lots for
them to see what each should take.  It was nine o'clock in the
morning when they crucified him.  (Mark 15:24,25)
Hail Mary...

And they placed over his head the written charge against him: This
is Jesus, the King of the Jews.  (Matthew 27:37)
Hail Mary...

O My Jesus...

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins.
Save us from the fires of Hell;
lead all souls into Heaven,
especially those in most need
of Thy mercy.  Amen.
The Glory Be....

Glory be to the Father, and to
the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world
without end.  Amen.
